Who is the Hungry Photographer?
The Hungry Photographer is Kelly Jo Garner, a professional photographer and artist living in Nashville, Tennessee. My interest in photography began during a trip to Russia in 1994, and became serious in 1999 when I learned how to process and print black and white film. Since then, I have corralled, cajoled, and bartered friends to pose for photographs; have teetered around edges of buildings to get "that sunset shot"; have learned more about lighting and filters and F-stops than I ever thought possible. What Do You Shoot? I shoot with an eye towards the artistic and an inclination towards the fantastic. I have taken band promo photos, weddings, passport photos, animal portraits, headshots, human portraits, and music performance shots. I have donated artwork to the American Heart Association's Triangle chapter auction and door prizes to the North Carolina Gay and Lesbian Film Festival. I have participated in showings at art galleries and coffeehouses and pizza parlors from Carrboro to Raleigh and Nashville. Why the Funny Name? The name "The Hungry Photographer" came about randomly one day as I was mulling over some food-related shots that I had done during a trip to Louisiana. I'm not solely a food photographer, though I will confess to having been inspired to photograph some memorable meals. Hunger can come in all forms, both physical and professional, and I always strive to please my clients with the best possible service and image we can produce. That way, everyone leaves the table satisfied. It would be my pleasure to work with you. Please contact me for a conversation about your photographic needs or upcoming projects.
